Print Care & Framing

Every Mystic Zoo print is made to order for its collector. Simple, thoughtful handling will help preserve its finish and visual impact for years to come.

When your print arrives

  • Open the parcel on a clean, dry, spacious surface.
  • Remove any packaging slowly and retain it until the print has been inspected and framed.
  • Handle the print by its outer edges only. Clean, dry hands are essential; cotton gloves are ideal for larger prints.
  • Keep the Certificate of Authenticity with the print’s documentation rather than mounting or framing it with the artwork.

Handling & storage

Until framing, keep the print flat and protected from direct sunlight, moisture, food, smoke and aerosols. Do not rest objects on the print or allow the printed surface to come into contact with adhesives, tape or rough materials. If temporary storage is required, retain the protective sheets and keep the work in a stable, dry interior environment.

Framing

For the strongest long-term presentation, we recommend professional framing. Ask your framer to use acid-free, archival-quality mounting materials and a window mount or spacer so the artwork does not sit directly against the glazing. UV-protective glazing is recommended where the print will be displayed in a naturally lit room.

Where to display your print

Choose an interior wall away from persistent direct sunlight, radiators, open fires, kitchens, bathrooms and other sources of heat, humidity or airborne moisture. A stable environment is more important than any particular room: avoid sharp changes in temperature and humidity where possible.

Cleaning

Do not apply cleaning fluids, sprays or solvents to the artwork. To remove loose dust from a framed work, use a clean, soft, dry microfibre cloth on the frame and glazing only. If the print itself is marked or damaged, please contact Mystic Zoo before attempting any treatment.

Certificate of Authenticity

Your Certificate of Authenticity records the provenance of the limited-edition print. Store it safely with your purchase documentation; it should remain with the artwork if it is ever gifted or sold.
